As it prepares to launch the paid version of the feature, Twitter will end the free API access after February 9.

The plan to make money from the platform calls for change. Currently, Twitter has not confirmed the paid version’s prices.

The free API service has been used by millions of developers to build third-party tools for the platform and keep track of changes to Twitter accounts. As a result, it is speculated that Twitter bots will cease to function after the free service ends.

Researchers who worked in the field of online abuse, hate speech and the dissemination of false information are thought to have been impacted by the end of free access.
