The CEO of Anthropic pays the White House a “productive” visit.

In contrast to the recent conflic between the US government and the AI startup, Anthropic CEO Dairo Amodei visited US authorities at the White House on Friday.

Amodei met with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and President Donald Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles, according to US media.

A White House representative told AFP, “The White House hosted an introductory meeting with Anthroipic today that was both productive and constructive.”

“We talked about ways to work together, as well as common strategies and procedures to deal with the difficulties of scaling this technology.”

The rhetoric is different from what happened months ago when US President Donald Trump told the government to “immediately cease” utilizing Anthropic’s technology because the business wouldn’t provide the pentagon unrestricted access to its Claude AI models for military use.

The White House spokeswoman continued, “We look forward to continuing this dialogue and will host similar discussions with other leading AI companies.”

Since then, Anthropic has taken legal action against the Trump administration and US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s decision to include the company on a list of businesses that provide a “supply chain risk”.

This is the first time a US corporation has ever received such a designation, which is usually reserved for companies from foreign adversaries, like as the Chinese tech giant Huawei.

In US courts, both lawsuits are still pending.

Amodei’s meeting at the White House was “a productive discussion on how Anthropic and the US government can work together on key shared proporities like cybersecuirty, America’s lead in the AI race, and AI safety”, an Anthropic representative told AFP.

The statement continued, “The meeting reflected Anthropic’s ongoing commitment to engaging with the US government on the development of responsible AI”.

Anthropic revealed their newest AI model, Mythos, earlier this month, but decided not to make it public because of possble cybersecurity concerns.

In an efforts knows as “Glasswing”, Anthropic has shared a version of Mythos with cybersecurity firms CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks, as well as with Amazom, Apple and Microsoft.

At the time, Anthropic claimed to have had talks with the US governmnet about Mythos, even though the White House had issued an order in February to end all of the startup’s contracts.
