After January, Windows 10 Home, Pro, and Workstation licenses will no longer be available on Microsoft’s website, the company has stated.

Windows 10 users will continue to receive security updates that protect their computers from viruses and malware until October 14, 2025, despite the fact that the licensing service will be discontinued.

The announcement pertains to consumers’ direct license purchases from the Microsoft website. The website has been selling Windows 10 Home licenses for $139 and Windows 10 Pro licenses for $199.

In the future, OEM copies of the licenses will be available on Amazon and will be available for purchase from third-party retailers.

The move is part of an effort to encourage more users to choose the most recent operating system.
