On Wednesday, Microsoft Corp. said that it was looking into a problem that was affecting several services, including Teams and Outlook. Outage reports said that the platforms were down for thousands of users worldwide.

Although the number of affected users was not disclosed by Microsoft, outage tracking website Downdetector reported more than 3,900 incidents in India and more than 900 in Japan. Australia, Britain, and the United Arab Emirates also saw an increase in reports of outages.

Status reports from various sources, including user-submitted errors, are compiled on the Downdetector platform for the purpose of monitoring outages.

The majority of users were unable to use the Team application’s features, join calls, or exchange messages during the outage. Microsoft Teams became a popular hashtag on Twitter, where updates about the service disruption were shared by a large number of users.

Businesses and educational institutions use Microsoft Teams, which is used by more than 280 million people worldwide, to make calls, schedule meetings, and organize their workflow.
