AI app from the FIA to stop people smuggling

ISLAMABAD: To prevent human smuggling and streamline the immigration procedure, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has created an artificial intelligence-based application.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi presided over a high-level meeting at the FIA headquarters on Friday, which revealed that a trial project of the recently created app will be introduced at the Islamabad airport.

The meeting examined the status of the decisions made at the last meeting toward modernizing the FIA.

The AI-powered tool that aims to streamline immigration processes and combat human trafficking was explained to Mr. Naqvi. The interior minister praised the app and said it was urgently needed.

The application also seeks to streamline the immigration process; an Islamabad airport pilot project would be started.

He claimed that in addition to preventing human trafficking, this program will spare travelers the inconvenience of standing in line for hours on end.

He ordered that FIA receive immediate funding to upgrade its IT infrastructure.

Additionally, he directed CDA authorities to promptly turn over the newly allocated land for the FIA Academy to the agency and ordered an immediate upgrade of the FIA headquarters building.

Mr. Naqvi ordered that hiring for all authorized open positions begin right away due to a staffing shortfall. He also promised that all required resources will be made available, but he emphasized that performance must be delivered in addition to resources.

The minister was notified by FIA Director General Raja Riffat Mukhtar that the required FIA Act modifications had been finished.

He also told the group that the digitization process was being undertaken on a priority basis.

All FIA notices will now be sent with QR codes as the organization quickly transitioned to an e-office system.

The conference was attended by all FIA directors and supplementary directors general, and zonal directors took part virtually.
