With effect from December 31, some smartphones will no longer be able to use WhatsApp, just as it does every other year.
The instant messaging app continues to release new updates, according to a report from The Independent. However, as the app will no longer be supported on some older smartphones, the most recent updates after December 31 will not work with these devices.
Smartphones with out-of-date operating systems will not be supported by the business. Notwithstanding, the clients of these cell phones will receive an admonition message before the application quits dealing with their telephones.
A statement released by WhatsApp stated, “Devices and software change frequently, so we regularly review which operating systems we support and make updates.”
“These gadgets additionally probably won’t have the most recent security refreshes or could come up short on usefulness expected to run WhatsApp. We look at which software and devices are the oldest and have the fewest people still using them every year, like other technology companies, to choose what to stop supporting.”
On an iPhone, select “software update” from the “general” settings menu if you want to update the operating system.
